Fred E. Crisp Jr., age 81, passed away on February 3, 2017 at home in Lenox, MA. Visiting hours will be held from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 pm, at Wenk Funeral Home, 21 Payn Avenue in Chatham NY on Saturday, February 10th.

Fred was born on November 9, 1936 in New Rochelle NY to Fred E. Crisp Sr. and Lillian Thomas Crisp and was the oldest of three boys. He graduated from Bellows High School in Mamaroneck, NY in 1955 and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Ithaca College. He married his high school sweetheart Marcia A. MacDonald on July 26, 1958 in Mamaroneck NY.

Fred began his career as manager of General Tire in White Plains, NY and went on to own several businesses; including the Dairy Queen in Ghent, NY, the Old Chatham Country Store, service stations on the New York State Thruway, Hertz Rental Agency in Pittsfield MA and an accounting/tax business for many years out of his home office in Canaan, NY until retirement.

Fred was committed to volunteering his time and skills in roles such as President of the School Board for Chatham Central School systems, Town Supervisor in Canaan, NY and as a volunteer of the Canaan Protective Fire Company. Besides his generosity and dedication to these causes, Fred will be remembered for his big heart and personality - you always knew when Freddie was in the room - as well as his ever-present sense of humor. He loved his family more than anything. He will be incredibly missed by all who knew and loved him.
