Frederick E. Fiske

1929-2015 PITTSFIELD Frederick E. Fiske, 85, of Hancock Rd., passed away at Hillcrest Commons where he been a resident since 2004. Born October 20, 1929 in Pittsfield, the son of Charles E. and Pearl LaBombard, he was a 1947 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Fred was employed for 45 years at General Electric in the laboratory and chemical departments, for many years he was the Santa Claus for the company Christmas parties. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield. Fred was a past master for four terms of the Crescent-Pittsfield Lodge A.F & A.M, a 32? York Rite, a Past Deputy Grand Master, Grand Representative, Nebraska, Past Grand Conductor of the Council, and Past Grand Lecturer of the Berkshire Council Royal and Select Masters, a five time commander of the Berkshire Commandery No. 22 Knights Templar and a recipient of the Knights Templar Cross of Honor, a four time High Priest of the Berkshire Royal Arch Chapter and also served as Deputy High Priest, Grand Representative, Minnesota, Past Grand Master, First Veil, Red Cross of Constantine and was a Holder of the Benjamin Hurd, Jr. Medal. Was a recipient of the Joseph Warren Medal presented by the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts and a Past Patron of the Collina Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Morningside Chapter. Fred leaves his wife, the former Ruth M. Wright, whom he married April 5, 1952, four daughters Janet R. Fiske of Pittsfield, Linda J. Fiske of Pittsfield, Amy V. Fiske of Pittsfield, Carol I. DeIulio and her husband Thomas of Scotia, N.Y., 2 grandsons, Gregory and Aron DeIulio; and two brothers Howard and James Fiske. He was predeceased by his brothers John, Richard and William. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mr. Frederick E. Fiske will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Ralph W. Howe, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Fred's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Unit 2 at Hillcrest Commons for the loving care and treatment they provided to him.
