Gale A. Grande

1939 - 2016 Mrs. Gale A. (Durant) Grande, 77, of Adams, died Wednesday evening, August 31, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. She was born in Adams on April 13, 1939, the daughter of the late Francis A. and Gertrude (Harrington) Durant. She attended local schools, and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School with the Class of 1957. She was a member of her class reunion committee for many years. Gale worked as a paraprofessional for the North Adams Public Schools for 15 years, until retiring in 2001. Earlier, she worked in the customer service department of the former Arnold Print Works, and later, the former Adams Print Works, for 27 years, dealing with many New York customers. She was an active communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams, where she was a member of its Meals Ministry Program at its inception. She was a weekly adorer at the parish Adoration Chapel, and assisted in delivering poinsettia plants to shut-in parishioners for Christmas. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Chet Grande, whom she married on April 11, 1980; a stepdaughter, Lynn Brandow and her husband, Buck, of Jackson, Wisconsin; a brother, Francis "Sonny" Durant and his wife, Helen, of Adams; two special cousins, Paul DuBois of Daytona, FL and Patricia Durant Clairmont of Adams; as well as several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 6th, at 10:30 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Tuesday morning from 9:00 until 10:30, at the funeral home.
