Margaret M. Garner
1918 - 2012
WILLIAMSTOWN - Margaret Mae (Robson) Garner, 94, of 118 Church St., Williamstown, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Williamstown Commons.
She was born in Bennington, Vt., on Feb. 5, 1918, daughter of Mials and Mathilda (Caron) Robson. She attended North Adams schools. Margaret worked at McCraw & Tatro, the Boston Store, Kay's, and Sprague Electric Co. She was last employed at North Adams State College in its food service dept. for 13 years until her retirement in 1981. Margaret was a member of the Williamstown Friendship Club and the Red Hat Society.
She was the widow of George Garner, a retired North Adams police officer who died on Sept. 21, 1976. They were married on Nov. 17, 1934.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Picard and Cheryl Garner of Williamstown; one son, George Garner of Wells, Vt., 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A granddaughter, Lynn Marie Picard, is deceased, and a sister, Virginia Belanger, and brother, Mials Robson, are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Margaret Garner will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA.
