Gary William Rocca 1954 - 2012 PITTSFIELD Gary William Rocca, 57, formerly of Pittsfield, died on May 5, 2012, at the Northside Hospital in Clearwater FL. He was born in Fort Belvoir, VA on July 17, 1954, son of William and Doris Flynn Rocca. He was a 1972 graduate of Taconic High School and a graduate of Purdue University, where he received his Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree. He was a computer technician/Unix Administrator for Lockheed Martin from 1978 to 1999. In 2000, he and his family moved to Pepperell, where he worked for Deluxe/Acxiom. He worked at Acxiom until the time of his death. He and Gale moved to Clearwater, FL this past October to enjoy the warm weather and beaches. Besides his parents of Pittsfield, he leaves behind his best friend and wife, the former Gale Yarmey, whom he married on June 30, 1984. He is also survived by three children, daughters Krystle Rocca of Northampton, Nikki Rocca and her fiance, Kent Ortiz, of Fitchburg, and his son Cole Rocca of Long Beach CA; brothers, Steven Rocca, Timothy Rocca and his wife Jen, a sister, Lori Borelli and her husband, Paul, all of Pittsfield, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his only granddaughter and apple of his eye, Kiara Rose Ortiz, whom he cherished. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Kathryn Yarmey of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by a sister, Jennifer. Gary was known to all who knew and loved him to be an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. He always looked forward to the annual vacations at Cape Cod and New Hampshire with family and friends and loved spending time at the beach. Throughout the years, he was a member of the Franco American Club in Pepperell, the former Stadium Men's Club, the Sportsman Fishing Club and a member of Ken's bowling league. He will be sadly missed by his son Cole's dog, Xoe, who loved to sit on his lap and follow him around the house. FUNERAL NOTICE: Gary W. Rocca died May 5, 2012. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 11, 2012, at 10 A.M. at St. Charles Church celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor. There are no calling hours at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME.
