George William Olson

1922-2013 George William Olson, 96, of Emerald Lane Williamstown, died on Monday December 16, 2013 at Sweetbrook Care Center in Williamstown. He was born in North Adams, on June 22, 1922 a son of the late Eskil and Hazel (Brewer) Olson. He attended schools in North Adams, graduating from Drury High School in 1940. He was a decorated veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. George was employed as a supervisor and superintendent for several Construction Companies, retiring from Emerson Construction Co. He was a member of the North Adams Methodist Church, Williamstown American Legion Post # 152 and also was a member of the local Carpenter's Union #108. George was predeceased by his wife, N. Janet (Norcross) Olson whom he married on October 26, 1946 in St. John's Church. She died on March 20, 2004. George also leaves two daughters, Carol Agnew and her husband Thomas of Williamstown, Nancy Roberts and her husband Donald of Niceville, FL.; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two sisters Elsie LaPlante of Williamstown, and Dorothy LeSure of Stamford, Vermont. He was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Raymond Olson. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for George Olson will be on Saturday December 21, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna home for Funerals West Chapel- 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Calling hours will be an hour prior to the service. Donations may be made to the St. Patrick's Food Pantry in care of the funeral home.
