Georgiana Victoria Tracy Kelson

1926-2013 Georgiana Victoria Tracy Kelson, 87, formerly of West Mountain Road, Cheshire, died Monday, September 30, 2013, at Springside Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield. Born in Great Barrington on March 29, 1926, to Elmer and Mildred Buckbee Tracy, she was educated in Cheshire and Adams schools and was a graduate of Adams High School. Mrs. Kelson was an electrical winder at General Electric Company for 20 years. She had also worked at Beachwood Rest Home and Williamstown Nursing Home until she moved to Goose Creek, South Carolina. She later returned to Cheshire to be closer to family. Mrs. Kelson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cheshire. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting hats for their church bazaars. She was also a member of the Cheshire Senior Center. Mrs. Kelson loved being a mother and a grandmother. She also enjoyed painting. Her husband, Wesley C. Kelson, whom she married March 29, 1952, in the First Baptist Church of Cheshire, died September 10, 1995. Mrs. Kelson is survived by two sons, William A. Kelson and his wife, Debbie, of Washington, and Daniel Kelson and his wife, Tammy, of Cheshire; two daughters, Linda Yarmey and her husband, James, of Hinsdale, and Ruth Diocson of Pennsylvania; her brother, Stanley Tracy and his wife, Leah, of Cheshire; and two sisters, Patricia Kerns of Pittsfield and Elodie Gaylord of Cheshire; as well as 13 grand-children; eight step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son, Ellsworth "Corky" Kelson; brothers, Paul, Preston, and Stuart Tracy; and sisters, Vivian Kuta and Dorothy Tracy. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services for Georgiana Victoria Kelson will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at 1 p.m., at the Cheshire Cemetery with Rev. William D. Furey officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cheshire Fire Department in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire, 01225.
