Gerard "Gus" Bailly
1948 - 2014 LEE Gerard "Gus" Bailly, 65, of Golden Hill Road, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pittsfield, on April 18, 1948, he was the son of August and H. Catherine Welch Bailly. Gus grew up in Lenox, and was a 1966 graduate of Lenox High School. He was previously employed by Dresser Hull, Agway, and Clifford Oil. Most recently, he was owner and operator of Gus Bailly Heating. Gus enjoyed NASCAR, camping, and car shows. He loved October Mountain rides and being with his family and friends. He and his wife, the former Sharon Souza, were married Sep. 4, 1971. In addition to his wife of 42 years, Gus is survived by two daughters, Michelle Leahey and her husband, Martin, Jennifer Bailly and her companion, Levi Wolford; five grandchildren, Sydney, Ryan and Alexandra Leahey, Amber Vincent and Jenna Wolford; two brothers, Donald Bailly and Richard Bailly and his wife, Madeline; two sisters, Christine Petersoli, and Donna Rae Rosselle, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie Poppert. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service to celebrate the life of Gus Bailly will be held Tuesday, March 18 at 11 a.m. at the KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238, with the Rev. John K. Sheaffer, Pastor of St. Mary's Church, officiating. Calling hours will precede the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be private for the family.
