Gertrude "Gert" M. Clark

1911-2013 Gertrude "Gert" M. Clark 102 a lifelong resident of Great Barrington, died Tuesday December 24,in Kindred Nursing and Rehab Center, Great Barrington. She was born in Great Barrington on January 10, 1911, daughter of William C. and Mary Davis Morrison. She was a 1928 graduate of the former Searles High School, and a member of the first graduating class of Our Lady of the Elms College, Chicopee, MA, class of 1932 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Gert was a teacher at the former Searles High School, retiring in 1976. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church. Gert was a former Daughter of Isabella, Mount Everett Council #513, Berkshire County Elms Alumni, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Modolo Post VFW #8348, and the Berkshire Mass. Teachers Association. Gertrude's husband John A. Clark whom she married on June 23, 1941, predeceased her on February 27, 1998. She leaves one daughter Maureen K. Segalla and her husband Richard Sr. of Canaan, CT, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a nephew Chuck Morrison. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Gertrude "Gert" M. Clark who died December 24, will be held on Monday December 30, at 10:00AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Peter's Church with the Reverend William P. Murphy pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday December 29, from 2-4 PM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Gert's memory may be made to St Peter's Restoration Fund in care of the funeral home at 33 South Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
