Gloria "Shirley" Therrien

1924-2012 Gloria "Shirley" Therrien, 88, of Milton, Fla., passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012. Shirley was born on June 30, 1924 in Williamstown, daughter of the late John and Alice King.

Shirley was a World War ll veteran serving as a WAVE in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion in Pittsfield.

Shirley was a homemaker and then worked for 18 yrs at GE Naval Ordnance in Pittsfield, retiring in 1985. She was an avid reader and quilter and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

She moved to Florida in 2000 with her husband Vincent Therrien. They were to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on October 25th.

She also leaves behind five daughters, Catherine Hedrick and her husband, Harry of Milton, Fla., Marilyn Wells of Milton, Fla.,Marcia Jaouen and her husband Andy, of Lee, Eileen Lampro of Huntersville, N.C., Janis Therrien of Pittsfield and a son Vincent Therrien, Jr., and his wife, Maryellen, of Chesapeake, Va., 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Valerie and a grandson, Joseph Gray. She also leaves a sister, Blanche McLain of Clarksburg and a brother, Leon King, Sr., of Windsor.

She was predeceased by a sister, Jean Luczynski and a brother, John "Paul" King, Jr.

Catholic services were held in Milton, Fla., on Saturday, October 13th with burial to be in Adams, at a later date.

Donations may be made in her name to the American Legion in Pittsfield, MA.
