Grace "Teddy" Boyce 1927 - 2012 PITTSFIELD Grace "Teddy" Boyce, 85, of Cole Ave, Pittsfield, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Born May 3, 1927, in Williamstown, daughter of Cornelius and Hendrica Verboom Vergunst, Grace attended local schools, graduating from Drury High School in 1945. She then graduated from the Wilfred Academy of Hairdressing in NYC. Grace went on to work for Sprague Electric Co., Wanda Trepacz Beauty Salon and also was a School Bus Driver for the City of Pittsfield. She enjoyed the Pittsfield Squares, Square Dancing Club, was a member of AARP and the Golden Seniors' Club. Grace was also a member of the South Congregational Church. She was actively involved in Ladies Benevolent Society, May Mattoon and Lord and Tailor Thrift Shop. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald H. Boyce, whom she married April 15, 1950; he passed away Aug. 30, 2007. She leaves two daughters, Brenda Addy of North Carolina and Karen Bradley of Dalton, and one son, David W. Boyce of Pittsfield; two sisters, Trudy Meckler of Akron, Ohio, Ann Root of Akron, Ohio, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Leonard and Peter Vergunst. FUNERAL NOTICE: Memorial services for Grace "Teddy" Boyce will be on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 1 p.m at the South Congregational Church in Pittsfield, with the Rev. Joel Huntington officiating, Burial will take place in Mountain View Cemetery in Lenox. Donations in her memory can be made to South Congregational Church Memorial Fund. WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME 220 EAST STREET PITTSFIELD MA 01201 will be in charge of arrangements.
