Grace Hashim Henry 1936-2012 LENOX Grace Hashim Henry, 75 of 235 Walker St in Lenox, died peacefully in Pittsfield on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. She was the beloved wife of 47 years of Cyrus A. Henry, Jr. Born Grace Marion Hashim in Pittsfield on April 6, 1936, daughter of Michael and Alice Simon Hashim, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and graduated form Pittsfield High School. She attended Pittsfield Secretarial School and worked for Berkshire Life Insurance Company for ten years as an executive secretary where she met her husband, Cyrus. She also volunteered with the Berkshire Medical Center Auxiliary. Music and singing played a major role in Grace's life. She sang in local musical programs, such as the Town Players and the Berkshire Lyric Theatre. She was a member of the choir of South Congregational Church and a soloist for twenty years at Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church where she was a member. Grace is survived by her husband, Cyrus A. Henry, Jr. of Lenox and of whom she married June 14, 1964. She is also survived by a son, Cyrus A. Henry, III, and his wife, Bonnie of Cheshire; a daughter, Elizabeth Trapani and her husband, Mark, of Pittsfield; grandchildren, Heather Sijeric and her husband, Eldin, Madalyn Grace Henry, Nicholas Trapani, Anthony Sijeric and her husband, Eldin, Madalyn Grace Henry, Nicholas Trapani, Anthony Trapani; and a great granddaughter, Medina Sijeric. She also leaves her sister Delores Gerardi and her husband, Donatantonio of Torrington, Conn.; brother, Michael Hashim and his wife, Cynthia, of Pittsfield, brother, Robert Hashim and his wife, Helen, of Poway, Calif.; an aunt, Katherine Simon and an uncle, Dr. George Hashim and his wife, June; And many special and beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her stepmother, Eveline Nasser Hashim; a brother, Lawrence D. Hashim; a sister, Elinor Hashim; a sister-in-law, June Hashim-McClosky; and a nephew, David Hashim. People who knew Grace appreciated her talents as a cook, particularly of Lebanese food, which she enjoyed sharing with her family and friends. Grace enjoyed many years of entertaining friends and traveling with her husband, Cyrus. She especially enjoyed her recent vacations to Cape Cod with her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Grace Hashim Henry will be held Thursday, March 15, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, with Rev. Dr. Hannah P. Anderson, Rector, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Henry may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital or St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
