Heather D. Kearney Kosla
PITTSFIELD - Mrs. Heather D. Kearney Kosla, 53, of 200 West Housatonic St., died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at home of a rare form of neuroendocrine cancer which metastasized to the liver.
Born in Pittsfield on May 20, 1958, daughter of Patrick and Joan Kinney Kearney, she was a 1976 graduate of Lenox Memorial High School and attended Berkshire Community College.
Mrs. Kosla worked at Schweitzer-Mauduit International Inc. in Lee for twenty years and then at Macy's department store in the Berkshire Mall.
Heather enjoyed studying rocks and minerals and had a large collection of interesting stones. She was proud of the doll house she and her sister built and enjoyed furnishing and decorating it. Heather enjoyed traveling and attending her children's sporting events, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and a former communicant of St. Mary the Morning Star church.
Besides her parents of Pittsfield, Heather leaves her husband, David Kosla, whom she married June 23, 1989 in Lenox and two children, Rebecca Kosla of Pittsfield and Thomas Kosla at home; a niece, Vanessa Knight, a great niece, Peyton Knight and a great nephew Darren Knight. She was predeceased by a sister, Hope Kearney who died on September 18, 2003.
Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Heather D. Kearney Kosla will be Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 8 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Mark's Church celebrated by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday, April 9, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. If friends desire, donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, Berkshire VNA or to the , care of the Dwyer Funeral Home in her memory.
