Helen Campbell St. Pierre

1925-2016 Helen Campbell St. Pierre, 90, of 56 Meadow St., Adams, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2016 at the Berkshire Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dover, New Hampshire on July 2, 1925 she was the daughter of the late James and Annie Breen Campbell. She was educated in New Hampshire schools, and was a graduate of Dover High School. In 1947 at the age of 22 she moved from New Hampshire to North Adams via the Hoosac Tunnel along the Berkshire Railroad. Upon her arrival at her stop in North Adams she met her future husband of forty-six years Arthur J. St. Pierre. Together, Arthur and Helen ran the cafeteria at the former State Teacher's College now known as Mass College of Liberal Arts. Helen also worked for the Sprague Electric Company. Helen went on to attend McCann and graduated as a Medical Assistant and worked several years for a neurosurgeon in Pittsfield. Additionally, she worked at the former Lechtor's store at the Berkshire Mall. Helen was a homemaker; she enjoyed crocheting, quilting and being a seamstress, watching the news and soap operas, discussing politics and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband Arthur J. St. Pierre whom she married November 11, 1947 died March 31, 1994. In her later years, Helen divided her time living with two of her daughters, Suzanne Lamb and Rosanne Schutz. She leaves her sons, Stephen A. St. Pierre and his wife Faith of Florida, Glenn St. Pierre and his wife LeaAnne of St. Augustine, FL, her daughters; Suzanne Lamb and her husband, Gary of Cheshire, MA, Rosanne Schutz and her husband, Norman of Adams, MA, Jeanne Cooke of California, her sister , Roseanna Newling of New Hampshire, her nine grandchildren; Erin St. Pierre and her husband Mark Longo of Coos Bay, Oregon, Dana St. Pierre and his wife, Amy of Pittsfield, MA, Joshua Lamb and his wife, Meagan of Hinsdale, Alicia Bannister and her husband, Lloyd of Chazy, NY, Gabe Lamb of Lanesboro, MA, Jacob Schutz and his wife, Lauren of Adams, MA, Caitlin Budrewicz and her husband, Tim of Buckland, MA, Jenna Sheets and her husband, Dylan of McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey and Jordan Jones and her husband, Jacob of Camp LeJeune, South Carolina, her seven great-grandchildren; Ethan, Chase, Kayden, Zoriah, Anneliese, Blake, Valor and an 8th great-grandchild, a boy that's currently on his way. She also leaves her daily companion MaryAnne Pinsonneault of Adams, MA, and many special nieces and nephews especially Timothy. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for Helen C. St. Pierre, 90, who died February 27th, will be Saturday March 5th, at 10:00a.m., at DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, celebrated by the Rev. Donald Grey, pastor of the Adams Baptist Church. Calling hours will be at DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME Friday from 4-7p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen's memory can be made to the Elder Services of Berkshire County or the North Adams American Legion Post #125 in which her husband, son, grandson, granddaughter and nephew are all members of, in care of the funeral home.
