1920 - 2014 E. CHATHAM N.Y. Helen L. Dunavin, 94, of Albany Turnpike Rd. died Monday at her home surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Dunavin born July 2, 1920, in Hayward, Wis. was the daughter of the late Samuel S. and Wista (Eytcheson) Pierce. She was employed at the former Hay Rake in Canaan, N.Y. as well as the Berkshire Farm for Youth. She also owned and operated Jon's Diner in New Lebanon, N.Y. for 20 years. She was married in 1929 to the late Jon Dunavin (1986) and moved to Chatham in 1944. Mrs. Dunavin is survived by her four sons, Douglas D., Nathan E., Richard E. all of East Chatham, Robert E. of Canaan; and two daughters, Nancy E. Schwarzmueller of Naples, Fla., and Nola J. Goetchius of Coxsacki, N.Y. Survived also by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Pierce. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services will be held Friday 10 a.m. from the WENK FUNERAL HOME Chatham. Interment will be in the Cemetery of The Maples.
