Helen Furciniti

1937 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Mrs. Helen Sullivan Furciniti, 76, of 73 Deborah Ave., Pittsfield, died at her home following a short illness. She was born in Pittsfield, Dec. 15, 1937, the daughter of the late Leo T. and Madeline Tracy Sullivan. She attended the local schools, was a graduate of Pittsfield High School in 1955, and attended Our Lady of the Elms College. Mrs. Furciniti was employed at the Berkshire County Savings Bank, now Berkshire Bank, in its' various departments, including Mortgages and Word Processing, retiring from there in 2007 with 30 years of service. Previously she had been employed as a legal secretary, and then with the Pittsfield Public Schools system. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she was an avid Red Sox fan and reader. Very close to her family and friends, Helen enjoyed watching and following her grandchildren play volleyball, softball, and basketball at all levels. She is survived by her daughter, Margot M. Koldys and her husband, John, of Pittsfield; her son, C. Mark Furciniti of Danvers, Mass.; her sister, Mary May of East Greenbush, N.Y.; her sister-in-law, Helene Sullivan of Sebring, Fla.; her six grandchildren, Michael and Mia Furciniti, Audrey, Sarah, Emily, and Ryan Koldys, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Carmen F. Furciniti, who died June 26,2002. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday morning, May 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, with the Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME.
