Obituary Condolences

Helen J. Guerin 1917-2010 ADAMS Mrs. Helen J. (Rys) Guerin, 93, of 42 Commercial St. Adams, died Monday morning, December 13, 2010, at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Holyoke, on August 29, 1917, a daughter of the late Joseph and Josepha (Adamczyk) Rys. She came to Adams as a child with her family, and attended Adams schools. Mrs. Guerin last worked as a cook at the former Commercial St. School in Adams, until retiring in 1983. Earlier, she had also worked as a cook at the former Adams Nursing Home in Adams. She was a communicant of the Parish of Pope John Paul the Great, Adams. She enjoyed crafts, reading, mushrooming, cooking and spending time with her family. Her husband, Isadore S. Guerin, whom she married on June 3, 1935, died on August 18, 1970. She is survived by a son, Donald Guerin, of Adams; four daughters, Marlene Guerin, with whom she resided; Noella Benvenuti and her husband, Roger, of Corona, CA; Cheryll McLaren of Adams, and Deborah Langner and her husband, Arthur, of Adams; two sisters, Alice Pyra of Adams, and Genevieve Kaczowski of Savoy; 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, James McLaren; a daughter-in-law, Sincha Guerin; by a brother, Clemens Rys; and by 3 sisters, Mary Racette, Stacia Langer and Carol Meczywor. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Friday, December 17th, at 11 a.m. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
