1920 - 2016 GREENFIELD - Helen G. (Musiak) Hermanski, 95, formerly of East Cleveland Street, died Friday, 2/12/16 at the Buckley Health Care Center in Greenfield. She was born in Greenfield on October 27, 1920, the daughter of Frank and Gladys (Cebula) Musiak. She attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School. Before retiring, Helen was a Bookkeeper at the Shedd Plumbing Company in Pittsfield. Prior to that, Helen worked for many years as a Western Union Operator in Pittsfield. In her earlier years, she was employed at Raytheon and Lunt Silversmith, both in Greenfield. Helen was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Turners Falls. Helen enjoyed many creative outlets, including sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking, and cooking. While living in Pittsfield, she was active for many years in the VFW Auxiliary. Her specialty was performing skits at veteran's hospitals and nursing homes using an array of costumes that she created for herself and her troupe. Among her survivors, Helen leaves her son, John Hermanski and his wife, Barbara of Salem, MA, two brothers, Thomas Musiak of Ransom Canyon, TX and John Musiak of Waukesha, WI, two sisters, Lillian Prunier of Turners Falls and Alice Gonski of Northampton and several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond Hermanski on January 6, 2005, four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Henry and Walter Musiak, and two sisters, Jessie A. Golas and Jennie M. Macewicz. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, 2/18/16 at 10a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church with the Rev. Stanley J. Aksamit officiating. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Greenfield. A calling hour will be held Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30a.m. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal St., Greenfield.
