GLENDALE Helen Koloski Pigott, the 10th child of Frank and Frances (Dombrowski) Koloski, died peacefully Monday, with her family at her side, in the family home in Glendale where she was born and lived throughout her life. Helen attended local schools and was a 1950 graduate of the former Williams High School and graduated from the former Pittsfield Secretarial School in 1951. She joined the Stockbridge Women's Bowling League, first bowling candlepins for 10 years, then tenpins, finally retiring in the spring of 2015 after 65 years! She was employed by the Austen Riggs Center of Stockbridge for 16 years. Helen met her husband, Christopher Pigott, and married in 1961. They had a daughter, Christine, with whom she stayed at home for 12 years before returning to the workplace. Helen was the executive secretary for the Town of Stockbridge Selectmen's Office for 16 years, retiring in 1994. There she became known as the "mayor" of Stockbridge, and served the town with her warm personality and deft organizational skills. She was a charter member of the Women's Auxiliary of The Glendale Fire Department, active since 1951, and served for 20 years as the Laurel Hill Association's representative to the Town Cemetery Commission, as well as, serving on the Board of Trustees of Laurel Hill and on the Executive Committee to the Williams High School Alumni Association. Laurel Hill recognized Helen's generous contributions to the quality of life in Stockbridge with an award in 1993. She was a volunteer at the Talbot Center for Good Stuff, and worked at the polls since 1994. Helen and Chris enjoyed ballroom dancing, and were beautiful to watch on the dance floor! They joined Votre Soiree in 2003, participating in all dances until the onset of her illness in 2012. Helen enjoyed traveling and visited Ireland, England, Italy, Greece, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Jamaica.
