Helen M. Lear

1947-2012 PITTSFIELD Helen M. Lear, 65, of Michael Drive passed away at her home with her family and caregivers at her side.

Born in Pittsfield, on March 5, 1947, the daughter of Kenneth and Alison Jones Kittler, Helen graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1965; she attended Cazenovia College in the nursing curriculum.

She was employed as the office manager for Dr. John George, prior to her retirement she was the office manager for American Medical Response Ambulance service for 10 years.

Helen enjoyed reading, shopping, and going for long walks and hiking in nature.

She leaves her daughter Heather J. Lear and her partner Mary McAuliffe of King George, Va., and her former husband Robert Lear of Pittsfield, her aunt and uncle Lady Joy Beavis and Sir Michael Beavis of Cypress, Greece, cousins Lynn & Simon Beavis of Cypress, Greece, Aunt Helen Jacobs of the United Kingdom and cousins Giles & Robin Jacobs of the United Kingdom, and her beloved cat Huey.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Helen M. Lear will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Richard Hayes of HospiceCare in the Berkshires officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations in Helen's memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
