Helen Milne

1921 - 2014 LEXINGTON Helen A. (DeGere) Milne, born in Adams, July 5, 1921, died in Lexington, on Oct. 20. Wife of the late John C. Milne, daughter of Alfred and Yvonne (Johnson) DeGere she graduated from Adams High School, Class of 1939. Helen received her A.B degree from Smith College in 1943, and M.A. degree from Mt. Holyoke College in 1948. She received Certificate for Teachers of French at Sorbonne in 1950. Helen taught French and History in Conn. schools from 1943-1949, and worked at Dewey & Almy Chemical/ W.R. Grace from 1950-1957. Helen taught French at Silver Lake Regional High School, Kingston from 1957-1963, and became Director of Foreign Languages, Grades 3-12, in Needham. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday Oct. 25 at St. Brigid Church, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation at the DOUGLASS FUNERAL HOME, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Saturday prior to Mass from 8:30 - 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Brigid Church, 2001 Mass. Ave. Lexington, MA 02421. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
