Helen Nacorchuk

1923-2014 PITTSFIELD Mrs. Helen Nacorchuk, 91, formerly of Highview Drive, died Sunday evening, April 27, 2014 at Craneville Place, Dalton where she resided for the past year. She was born in Pittsfield, April 27, 1923, the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Zajac Dmytryshyn and was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield. She graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1941 and from the former Henry Bishop School of Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years and also did private duty nursing at local hospitals retiring in 1985. Helen was very proud of being a member of the Henry Bishop School Alumni Association, where she handled all correspondence. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing and all needle crafts. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Urkrainian Catholic Church in Pittsfield. Mrs. Nacorchuk was the widow of William Nacorchuk, whom she married June 14, 1947. Mr. Nacorchuk died August 9, 2002. She is survived by two daughters, Elaine West and her husband, Barry Ross West, of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Alice Chapman and her husband, Douglas Chapman, of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She also leaves two beloved grandchildren, Katherine Chapman and Robert Chapman. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for Helen Nacorchuk will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, Mass. with Father Janusz Jedrychowski officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday morning prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to Elder Services Meals on Wheels in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
