Henry A. Armata

1918-2014 Mr. Henry A. Armata, 95, of 2 Clifford Lane, Adams, died Friday morning, January 10, 2014, at his home. He was born in Adams on April 16, 1918, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Pas) Armata, and attended Adams schools, including the former Adams High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with Company B of the 61st Engineer Combat Battalion of the US Army in the European Theater, until his Honorable Discharge as a Corporal in 1945. Mr. Armata last worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, until retiring in 1983. Earlier, he had worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, where he served as an usher for many years. He was a member the St. Stanislaus Kostka Society, American Legion Post 160, and the former PNA Drum Corps. He is survived by his Godchildren, Mary Roy of Windsor, and Katherine Caffrey of Dalton, as well as many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Jessie Wojtaszek and Mary Ann Sibbio, and by his brothers, Julian, Edward, Roman and Bernard Armata. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 15th, at 11:30 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor of the Parish of Blessed John Paul. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home.
