1935-2013 Hershey Moody, 78, of 265 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, died Monday, August 19, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Savannah, Georgia, on March 17, 1935, a son of Norman and Louise Johnson Moody, he was educated in Savannah schools. Mr. Moody was employed by General Electric Company in various capacities in the Power Transformer Department. He retired in 1990 with 25 years service. He was a member of Victory Temple Church of God in Christ. He adored his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed going to OTB, his cars, and taking rides in the mountains. Mr. Moody leaves his wife, the former Kathlyn A. Ingram, to whom he had been married since 1975. He is also survived by three sons, Hardy M. Nicholson of Albany, New York, Tommy Moody of Boston, and Clyde Lafayette of Saratoga, New York; two daughters, Kathlyn L. Nicholson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kapaula Y. Nicholson of Rochester, New Hampshire; two brothers, Charlie Moody and Howard Moody of Savannah, Georgia; four sisters, Verdie Hardy of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Beretha Moody of Savannah, Georgia, Elise Wilson of Savannah, Georgia, and Betty Bateman of Pittsfield; as well as his eleven grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Hershey Moody will be held Monday, August 26, at 1:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Charles E. Pratt, Pastor of Victory Temple Church of God in Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Victory Temple Church of God in Christ in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
