1914-2012 SHEFFIELD Hugo Ernest Theodore Carlson, 98, of Hewins Street in Sheffield passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his home.

Born September 6, 1914 in Cambridge, MA he was the son of Ernest and Jennie Giselsson Johnson Carlson. He was a graduate of the Stockbridge School at U-Mass Amherst and Babson College.

A veteran of World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 - 1943.

Hugo was an agricultural entrepreneur. He was a member of the Mantle Club as well as various Swedish Clubs and choirs.

He and his wife, Olga, had been living in Sheffield for the past five years during which time they attended Christ Church Episcopal & Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheffield.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Olga Esther Calson. The couple was married on March 1, 1942 at Our Savior Church in Dorchester, MA. He also leaves his son Theodore and his wife Victoria, his daughter Charlotte Esther and her husband William Donaldson, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A service celebrating the life of the late Hugo Carlson will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Church Episcopal & Trinity Lutheran Church, 180 Main Street, Sheffield, MA, conducted by Rev. Annie Ryder, pastor. Burial will be at a later date at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Brookline, MA.

There will be no calling hours.
