Irene Hall Obituary
Irene Rita Fagan Hall

1918-2013 On August 14, 2013, Irene R. Hall died peacefully at her most recent home, The Fairfax, Fort Belvoir, VA at the age of 95. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Jane Salmon Fagan and James Joseph Fagan on April 24, 1918. She grew up in St. Albans, New York, where she met (Col.) William. L. Hall, her husband of 49 years. She was most well known for creating a loving home steeped in family values, where her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren always came first in her life. Her devotion, dedication, and hospitality to her family and friends were legendary. Her spirituality, optimism, smile, and easy laughter were infectious, and she has served as a wonderful role model for all of us in living our lives with grace. Lovingly known as "Nonnie" to her grandchildren, she was an avid reader, gourmet cook, seamstress, knitter, gardener, and homemaker. Above all, she was kind. She is survived by her daughter, Dedre Fiske (Steve) and her son Jim Hall (Julie Scott), grandchildren Dr. Haley Fiske (Dr. Christina Fiske), Mary Dorsey Breslin (Matthew), Jimmy Fiske, and Trudy Jane Hall, great grandchildren Connor and Abigail Irene Fiske, Colleen James Breslin, and first cousin Anne McCarthy. The Hall/Fiske family will forever be most grateful for the love, care, and concern that were provided to our mother/grandmother over the last several years by Marie Sally Kamara, Lexie Miller, and the staff of The Fairfax. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Peter's Catholic Church 213 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA on Saturday, September 7 at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at St. Peter's Cemetery. She will remain in our hearts forever. To all her friends and family, we thank you for celebrating her life with us. In lieu of flowers, gifts or contributions in honor of Irene may be made to the Alford Land Trust in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington, MA. 01230.
