Isabelle B. Soule

1946 - 2016 Isabelle B. Soule 69, of Swamp Road in West Stockbridge, died Tuesday at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Pittsfield, MA on July 21, 1946 the daughter of Glen and Mary Cahalan Pilling. She was raised in Stockbridge and was a 1964 graduate of the former Williams High School and later attended Berkshire Community College. Isabelle was one of the first employees of Country Curtains starting in 1962. She managed the Pittsfield boutique Painted Angels and then became the Executive Administrator of the Main Street Hospitality Group/Red Lion Inn until her retirement in 2008. Isabelle was an artist and craft person who enjoyed antiques and vintage collectibles. Her garden was the envy of many. She meticulously recorded the wild visitors to her bird feeders and yard. She leaves her best friend and husband Gordon Soule Sr. whom she married May 7, 1966, son Gordon Soule Jr and his wife, Tina of Stockbridge, daughter, Kristin Drucker and her husband, Peter of Gt. Barrington and her brother, John Woodworth and his wife, Joanne of Pittsfield. She also leaves beloved cousin and confidant Bobby Kay and his wife, Andi. Her favorite activity was spending time with her four grandchildren Anna, Sarah, Emma and Grace who will miss her yogi pops, baking cookies, piano playing and craft projects. She was predeceased by her brothers Glenn Pilling Jr., Al Woodworth, James Woodworth and her sisters Janet Braze and Mary McDowell. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday morning, May 3rd at 11am at St. Joseph's Church in Stockbridge. Visiting hours at the Kelly Funeral Home will be Monday, May 2nd from 4-7PM. Friends wishing may make donations to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, West Stockbridge Library, or to the Stockbridge Council on Aging in care of the Kelly Funeral Home at 3 Main St. Lee, MA 01238.
