Words can't really express my gratitude for Rabbi Stern's influence in my child and young adulthood. He was probably the first truly spiritual person i connected with in my life. We shared the same birthday. He set an example of profound understanding of life and all it brought. I'll never forget his sermon when Israel was attacked on the high holidays. He took me through my bar mitzvah and married me, saying the key to a successful marriage was a sense of humour. I so loved the quality of his voice, his ability to weave a sermon filled with power, grace, a good laugh, community spirit, and a deep deep sense of the bigger picture. I am so grateful I had him in my life. My heart goes out to his family, friends and temple community.

Our entire family was touched by Jack in so many ways. He was a wonderful man who we will miss so very much. No celebration was complete without Jack's smiling face. He is now out of pain and that fact helps us all.
Sincerely, The Kain family

Rabbi Jack Stern has such a special place in the hearts of my entire family. While we don't live in the same city, Rabbi Stern performed not only our wedding, but our daughter's baby naming and then delivered a special prayer at her Bat Mitzvah, as a guest Rabbi. His ability to connect, to love, to smile and to give will be so missed by my entire family. We are thinking of Jack's beloved children now and sending our condolences and love, Stacy and Tim Gorin

I knew Jack and Pricilla in Scarsdale and in the Berkshires. Their warmth, humor and sensitivity to life's problems and foibles helped so many of us in so many ways -- the world is a colder place without them.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of the man I knew as "Grandpa Jack". My mom was Jed and Sarah's former full-time nanny, while I was the occasional weekend sitter.
Each time he visited Philly, he was kind, inquisitive and witty. I have nothing but fond memories of him. R.I.P. Grandpa Jack. You will not be forgotten.

Friend, teacher, role model at a time when few could
claim this honorific, Rabbi Jack Stern will be deeply missed, even by those who did not have the privilege
of knowing him until his later years. He was a mensch.
Shalom.

He was a friend in the truest sense of the word. Just knowing him was a constant comfort. He held my hand during my father's last days and comforted my family on many occasions. Rest in peace. We will always love you.
