Edward Beckwith

1962-2013 James "Jimmy" Edward Beckwith 50 of East St. Mount Washington, Mass., died surrounded by his loving family on June 6, 2013 at Albany Medical Center.

He was born in Great Barrington on December 15, 1962, son of Margaret Finnegan Beckwith and the late Ernest R. Beckwith Sr. Jimmy was educated in local school graduating from Monument Mountain Regional High School in 1980.

He was the Highway Superintendent for Mount Washington; Jimmy was in the logging business with his father until his father's passing in 2005, Mount Everett Regional High School custodian for five years and the Sheffield Highway Department. He also trapped beavers and was in lawn care. Jimmy was four years past constable for the town of Mount Washington, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and spending time and going to events with his children.

Beside his mother Margaret Finnegan Beckwith Jimmy is survived by his wife Linda Whitbeck Beckwith whom he married on September 3, 1994, one son Henry J. Beckwith and one daughter Sarah M. Beckwith at home. He also leaves two brothers Ernest Jr. and wife Linda of Sheffield, Bruce and wife Carey of Great Barrington, two sisters Anne Ranolde and husband Daniel of Great Barrington, Laurie Beckwith of Great Barrington, aunts, uncles, cousins and mother in law Margaret "Peg" Whitbeck. In addition to his father Ernest R. Beckwith Sr.

Jimmy was pre-deceased by father in law James P. Whitbeck.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Monday June 10, at 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church of Great Barrington with Pastor Charles Van Ausdall, Reverend John Hay and Reverend Luanne Bandoratti officiating. Burial will be at Crossroads Cemetery Mt Washington. Family will receive friends Sunday June 9, 2 to 5 at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME.
