James L. Blache

1935 - 2015 LEE James L. Blache, 79, of Fuller St., died Thursday Jan. 22 at his home. He was born in Pittsfield on May 26, 1935 the son of Raymond J. and Margaret F. Crerar Blache. He was educated at St. Mary's School and was a 1954 graduate of Lee High School. He enlisted in the U. S. Army on Feb. 6, 1958 and was discharged Oct. 31, 1961 with the rank of Corporal. He worked for Milt North for 33 years as a mechanic in Lee and then for Thomas Durfee as a mechanic at the Lenox Dale Service Station until his retirement. His wife the former Beatrice M. Gray whom he married March 31, 1962 died in 2003. Jim leaves his four children, Cindy L. Belair and her partner, Keith, of Pittsfield, John H. VanZandt and his wife, Ann, of Lee, Pegi M. Zerbato and her husband, David, of Otis, Lisa A. Snow of Kingston, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Denielle C, John H. and his fiance, Paris Roosa, Jimmy S., Wayne A., Blake L., Logan D., Travis D. and Jeremy S. He leaves one great-grandchild, Cameren, and a second great-grandchild on the way. He also leaves his sister Patricia Forbes of Lee and her four boys. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Saturday Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. at the KELLY FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Bill Neil pastor of the First Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 - 7.
