James "Ted" Boudreau

1923 - 2014 DALTON James "Ted" E. Boudreau, 91, of 1131 Main Street, a longtime resident of Dalton, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Springside of Pittsfield. Born in Pittsfield on July 15, 1923, the son of James M. and Jane Anne Crerar Boudreau, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1941 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Following military service, Mr. Boudreau continued his education at Boston University where he graduated in 1950 with a bachelor degree in business administration. A World War II veteran, Mr. Boudreau enlisted with the United States Navy on Nov. 12, 1942, served as a Storekeeper First Class aboard the USS Hall, and was honorably discharged on Apr. 17, 1946. Mr. Boudreau was employed by General Electric Company in its Ordnance Systems Division. He retired in 1985 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the G.E Quarter Century Club and Pensioners Club. Mr. Boudreau was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. He was a member of the Benjamin F. Sullivan Post #155 of the American Legion, and the Tin Can Sailors, a National Association of Destroyer Veterans. He was an avid Red Sox fan, had coached Dalton Junior Football, and enjoyed following "Beanpot Hockey". He enjoyed sailing his boat, "Michkedeli", named after all of his children, from his cottage on Long Lake in Bridgton, Maine. Mr. Boudreau leaves his wife, the former Joan A. Ross, whom he married Oct. 14, 1950, in Littleton, New Hampshire. He is also survived by four daughters, Michele A. Gottung and her husband, John, of Pittsfield, Cheryl M. Boudreau of Pittsfield, Denise L. Schuler, of Dalton, and Lisa Cachat-Kiel and her husband, George, of Dalton; a son, Ken J. Boudreau of Hinsdale; fifteen grandchildren, Alyssa, Aaron, Tara, David, Rachel, Kayla, Shaun, Jordan, Shane, Jared, Amanda, Brian, Tim, Dylan, and Adam; and six great grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for James "Ted" E. Boudreau will be held Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Agnes Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial with military honors will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m, at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Soldier On in care of the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
