James A. Delisle
1931-2013 NORTH ADAMS James A. "Champ" Delisle, 82, of 29 Walker St. North Adams, died on Sunday June 23, 2013 at his home.
He was born in North Adams, on March 8, 1931, son of the late Henry & Viola (Belleau) Delisle. He attended the former Notre Dame School and graduated from Drury High School in 1949.
James was a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard and was employed for many years at Sprague Electric Co. on Brown Street in North Adams. He was last employed at Williams College, Building and Grounds Dept.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church and attended St. Patrick & Raphael's Parish in Williamstown. James loved model trains, fishing, and woodworking. Most of all he was a devoted Boston Red Sox baseball fan.
His wife, Theodora Delores "Dora" (Rotolo) Delisle died on February 28, 2012. They were married on September 20, 1952 in St. Anthony's Church.
He leaves one daughter, Elizabeth Malloy and her husband Alan Blier of Clarksburg, a son Daniel Delisle of North Adams; grandchildren, Michael Delisle, Katelyn Malloy and her fiance Logan Maestri, Kelsey Malloy, Mitchell Malloy & Kara Delisle and three great grandchildren.
He is also survived by three brothers, Richard Delisle, John Delisle and Edward "Ted" Delisle all of North Adams. He also leaves nieces and nephews and was predeceased by two brothers, Michael & Robert Delisle.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for James Delisle will be held Friday June 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 4 to7 p.m. Memorial Donations are suggested for the Berkshire Humane Society through the funeral home.
