James Barnum Donihee 1930-2012 WILLIAMSTOWN James Barnum Donihee 81, of 83 Bachand Ave. Williamstown, a long time resident of the Spruces died Sunday March 25, 2012 at the Williamstown Commons. He was born in Larchmont, N.Y. on August 18, 1930 a son of the late Henry Murray Donihee and Helen (Schermerhorn) Donihee. He was educated at Yale University and graduated from the University of South Carolina. He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a Lieutenant during the Korean Conflict and worked for the Bureau of Mines in Washington, DC. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of many fields. His expertise and interest ranged from classical music to higher mathematics and chemistry. In his later years his joys included; gardening, auditing classes at Williams College, solving mathematical problems that had nor been solved in years, according to a Williams College newsletter. Survivors include One Sister; Mary Ellen Donihee Ivers and her husband Robert of Big Flats, N.Y., and One Brother; John Edward Donihee of Silver Springs, Md. Several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services will take place Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Williamstown, Ma. Burial with military honors will follow in the Veterans Section of Eastlawn Cemetery. The Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, Ma. are in charge of arrangements.
