James Francis Adams, 59, of 8255 Metto Road, Jacksonville, Fla., died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 25, 1945, the son ofJohnand Anne (Lynch) Adams, he attended the former St. Joseph’s Grammar School and graduated from the former St. Joseph’s High School in 1963. He also completed a drafting program at McCann Technical School in North Adams.
He was a member of the National Guard.
Mr. Adams was employed by General Electric Co., Pittsfield, for about three years. He then moved to Miami, where he worked at Cornice Co., for about 10 years, and later at Motorola for about 10 years. In 1999, he moved to Jacksonville, where he was last employed by Research Consultants.
While in North Adams, he was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
He was an avid photographer and biker. He enjoyed reading.
He leaves three sisters, Patricia Meichner and her husband, Frederick, of Holyoke, Mary Breault of Highland, N.Y., and Carol Kulpa, and her husband, Walter, of Manchester, Conn.; three nieces, Ellen Skoly of Vernon, Conn., Kathleen Kulpa of New York City, and Elizabeth Kulpa of Vermont; three nephews, Gregory Breault of Pennsylvania, Gary Breault of Highland, N.Y., and David Breault of Las Vegas; and his longtime companion, Betty Grogan of Jacksonville.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for James Adams will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 27, 11 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, are Tuesday, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the MSPCA in care of the funeral home.
