James W. Heath Sr. 1957-2012 James W. Heath Sr., 55, died Friday, July 6 in Hollywood, Fla. He was born in Pittsfield, July 17, 1957 to Ruth A. Heath and the late Herbert H. Heath Sr. James was raised and attended schools in Lee before entering the Army. He later settled in Hollywood, Fla., attending Sheridan Technical Center where he earned his Civil, Structural and Architectural Drafting Certificates. He then began a career as a home inspector, as well as an independent contractor who remodeled condos and homes in southern Florida. James was an avid sports fan and cheered for all Massachusetts' teams. Baseball was his favorite sport. Not only did he enjoy watching sports, but he was also a collector of sports' memorabilia. James is survived by his mother Ruth A. Heath of Lee, daughter Christina Heath of Hollywood, son James (Paul) Heath Jr. of New Hampshire, and his grandchildren Jacob Heath-Charbonneau and Rhiannon Heath. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters. Brothers: Herbert Jr. and his wife Debbie of South Egremont, and John of Lee. Sisters: Ruth LeCompte and her husband Steven, and Nancy Wade and her husband Randy, both from Lee. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donald on February 23. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held to celebrate James' life Friday, June 20 at 6 p.m. at Tyringham Union Church in Tyringham, MA officiated by Reverend Janet McKinstry. A buffet will follow in fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James' name to .
