James M. Joseph Obituary




James M. Joseph, 41, of Pittsfield died on November 1.

Born in New York City and raised in Southbury, CT., he was the son of Sheila (Lynch) Joseph of Roxbury, CT. and the late William J. Joseph

He attended The Taft School where he excelled in athletics, playing baseball, football and hockey. He went on to attend the College of the Holy Cross on a baseball scholarship where he was a star (southpaw) pitcher. He graduated with a law degree from Suffolk University and later worked for many years as a commercial real estate attorney in Hartford, CT.

Known for his quick wit and intelligence, he was an affable companion with a large network of friends.

James fought a long, hard and brave battle with addiction for which he had a supportive group of childhood friends from CT and recently in Pittsfield the support of many people in the recovery community.

He was a loving father to his son Lachlan in whom he found hope and strength. He is survived by his wife Stacey Farrell Joseph and his son. He is also survived by his mother, Sheila Joseph and his brothers, Brian and Craig Joseph.

The Devanny-Condron Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care.
