James E. "Wheels" Wheeler

1956 - 2015 LEE James E. "Wheels" Wheeler, 59, died Saturday at his home. Jimmy was born May 3, 1956, in Pittsfield, to the late John "Jack" and Joan M. Turner Wheeler. He graduated from Lee High School in 1975. After graduation Wheels went cross country, driving tractor trailer trucks. Ultimately landing in California where he stayed for a short period of time. After returning to his hometown of Lee, Wheels went to work for Doug Trombly Window and Door and most recently worked as a handyman for the Morgan House. In his high school years, Jimmy was known for being the football star, something he really was proud of. He has most recently been involved with the Lee Youth Football league and could find him cooking in the concession stand at all of the home games. Wheels is survived by a brother; Jack Wheeler and his wife, Kathleen of Punta Gorda, FL., two sisters; Jeanne Tyer and her husband, Bill, of Lee, and Jane Moran and her husband, Mark of Bradenton, FL. He also leaves his five nieces, five nephews, two grand-nieces, and three grand-nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service will be celebrated at the convenience of the family at a later date at Fairmount Cemetery in Lee. In lieu of flowers donations in Wheels' memory may be made to Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240, to help offset funeral expenses.
