Jane Marie Beckwith 1934-2011 Jane Marie Beckwith died peacefully on Tuesday, December 13th, 2011, surrounded by her family at her home in Homosassa, Fla., after a brief illness. She was born August 19, 1934 in Lee. She graduated from Lee High School where she played for the girls' basketball team and was a cheerleader. She was married to Floyd Beckwith until his death in 2001. They raised a family while traveling the world together in the United States Air Force. Early in her career she worked primarily with children, then went on to obtain her nursing degree and worked for many years at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, as a maternity nurse. She and her husband retired to Florida in 1986 where she continued to work in nursing, specializing in geriatrics. Jane and her husband also enjoyed competitive archery, with both becoming Florida State Champions for their age group. She is survived by three daughters: Floydette Nesti of Pittsfield, Virginia Bentley of Homosassa, Fla., and MaryJane Beckwith of Leesburg, Fla. Eight grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, and Deanna Nesti of Pittsfield, Courtney Viveiros of Spring Hill, Fla., Tabatha Newcomb and Amanda Flores of Rockford, Ill., Sgt. Adam Reynolds, United States Army of Fort Jackson, SC, and Brandon Harris of Leesburg, Fla., and Twelve great grandchildren.
