Jeanette O'Brien Obituary
Jeanette A. O'Brien, 84, of 255 Lebanon Ave., formerly of Lenox, died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield April 27, 1930, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy Prew Lyman, she attended local schools and was a 1948 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. O' Brien was a loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
She had been a member of the Church on the Hill in Lenox and belonged to their flower committee, and had also been a member of the former Stickles-Turnure VFW Post Woman's Auxillary, the Lenox Grange, and had been a Girl Scout Leader.
Her husband, John J. O'Brien, Jr., died in 2005.
Mrs. O'Brien is survived by one son, Michael E. O'Brien and his wife, Joanne, of Lee; one daughter, Nancy A. Pirzl and companion, Chester Hover, Jr., of Pittsfield; one sister, Margery Izard of Glastonbury, Conn.; grandchildren, Kelly Pirzl Kendig and husband, Luke, of Dalton, and John H. Pirzl of Dalton; and her great-granddaughter, Chelsea Ann Kendig.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Thursday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Irene Jones officiating. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday evening from 5 - 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Church on the Hill in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
