Jeannie M. Richards
1970-2013 ADAMS Mrs. Jeannie Marie (Whitney) Richards, 42, of 17 Jordan St. Adams, died Monday evening, January 14, 2013, at North Adams Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in North Adams on June 16, 1970, a daughter of Harriet (Pierce) Whitney and the late Henry Whitney. She attended North Adams schools, and graduated from Berkshire Community College as a Registered Nurse.
Mrs. Richards last worked as a Registered Nurse for the Brien Center's CSU program, until illness forced her retirement 3 years ago.
She enjoyed caring for children, and her yearly trips to New York City with her niece and co-workers.
She is survived by her mother, Harriet Whitney of Warren, Vt.; Her husband, Eric C. Richards, whom she married on May 16, 1998; four Sons, Ji Richards of North Adams; Justin Whitney, USMC, of California; and Jorden Richards and Forrest Richards, both of Adams; a stepson, Eric Whitney of Adams; a stepdaughter, Amber Richards of New York State; a brother, Brian Whitney of North Adams; a sister, Amy Brassard of Cheshire; two step grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, friends and caregivers.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Service of remembrance will be held on Friday, January 18th, at 6 p.m. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Calling hours are Friday from 4 p.m. until the service.
Burial will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to Eric Richards, for the benefit of their children, through the funeral home.
