1956 - 2014 SAVOY Mr. Jeffrey Walter Baran, 58, of 274 Black Brook Road, peacefully crossed over to eternal life surrounded by his loving family at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 26, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Adams on February 22, 1956, a son of Walter and Marion (Brooks) Baran. He attended schools in Adams, including Hoosac Valley High School. He then graduated from Berkshire Community College with his Associates Degree in Business Data Processing. Jeff last worked as an Energy Specialist for the Honeywell Co., in Canton, MA. Earlier he had owned and operated his own business, Briarhome Enterprises. He was a member of Custom City Cycle, Adams. He was a former member of the Savoy Volunteer Fire Department and the Savoy Conservation Commission. Jeff was a skilled craftsman and a Harley enthusiast. He was known for his quick wit and his willingness to help anyone. He enjoyed camping, fishing, reading and cooking. Besides his parents of Adams, he is survived by his wife, Michelle Perrier, whom he married on June 26, 2008; one son, Clay Baran of Va.; one stepson, Matt Zieminski and his companion, Brittany Gage, of Cheshire; two stepdaughters, April LeSage and her husband, George, of Savoy and Amanda Zieminski and her fiance, Scott O'Connell, of Pittsfield; one brother, Paul Baran and his wife, Michele, of Margate, Fla; two sisters, Pamela Sommer and her husband, Donald, and Teresa Waryjasz and her husband, Edward, all of Adams; two stepgrandchildren, Emma and Bentley Zieminski of Cheshire; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends from Custom City Cycle. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be on Friday, Aug. 29, at 9:45 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by the Rev. David R. Raymond, Pastor. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
