Jeffrey L. Johnson Sr.

1952 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Jeffrey L. Johnson Sr., 61 died Saturday, Nov. 1, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was born in Pittsfield on Nov. 15, 1952, a son to the late Robert and Julia (Ceasar) Johnson. He attended schools in Pittsfield and graduated from Taconic High School where he was a star player on the basketball and football teams. He was employed as a union construction worker with Local #473 for many years. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Pittsfield. He loved music and was a bass guitar player for several bands in the area. He also enjoyed fishing and drag racing. Mr. Johnson leaves his wife, Kim Marie (Smith) Johnson whom he married on Aug. 27, 1983 in Pittsfield. Other survivors include his two sons, Jeffrey L. Johnson Jr. and his wife, Jessica, of Williamstown and Jeremy J. Johnson and his wife, Heather, of Raleigh, N.C.; as well as three daughters, Malinda Daly and her husband, Jason, of Pittsfield, Tristan Pearson and her husband, Paul, of Millerton, N.Y., and Candace Hescock and her husband, Mike, of N.C. He also leaves a sister, Judy Smith of Cambridge; and two brothers, Robert and John Johnson, both of Pittsfield. He leaves ten grandchildren and many beloved nephews and a niece. He was predeceased by a brother, James Johnson. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services will be celebrated at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Park Square in Pittsfield on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jennifer Gregg, Assistant Rector officiating. Burial will follow in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held from 4 - 6 p.m. on Wednesday at FLYNN DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, Mass. Memorial Donations may be made to FORD at BMC through the funeral home.
