Jeffrey A. Taschner

1959 - 2014 DALTON Mr. Jeffrey A. Taschner, age 55, of 22 Merriam St., died Nov. 27 at the Berkshrie Medical Center after a being stricken at work. He was born Feb. 23, 1959, in Bitburg, Germany, the son of Vernel H. Taschner and Barbara S. Treutel Dotson. He came to the United States upon his military parents being reassigned and lived in several states, prior to settling in Roswell, N.M. A Lieutenant in the New Mexico State Correctional System, he retired with 22 years of service prior to coming to live in the Berkshires. He was employed as a security officer at Sabic here in Pittsfield at the time of his death. Jeff loved his family, his children and his grandchildren. He was known for his quiet manner and was the kindest of men. Jeff enjoyed traveling throughout New England and loved to play golf. He was a member of the Sabic golf league at Pontoosuc Country Club. Jeff was a great fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Boston Red Sox. In addition to his father, Vernel, of Golden Valley, Ariz., and his mother, Barbara, of Roswell, N.M., he is survived by his companion of eight years, Susan M. Cornellier, with whom he shared their home; his two sons, David A. Taschner and his wife, Kyla, of Edinburgh, Texas, and his son, Daniel A. Taschner and his wife, Arin, of Artesia, N.M.; his five grandchildren, Garrick, Brynleigh, Parker, Gavin and Luke Taschner. He was predeceased by his brother, Christopher L. Taschner, who died Nov. 27, 1977. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held in Roswell, N. M. at a later date. Following cremation there, burial will take place in the family lot in Wis. In lieu of flowers, if friends, desire, memorial donations may be made to the in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME which is in charge the local arrangements.
