Jerome F. Bourdon

1924 - 2013 NORTH ADAMS Jerome Francis Bourdon, 88, of 426 East Main St., died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Williamstown Commons.

He was born in North Adams on Oct. 27, 1924, son of Henry E. and Eleanor (Discoe) Bourdon. He attended the former Notre Dame Parochial School.

Jerome was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theater, fighting in Luzon and New Guinea. Among his decorations, he was awarded the Purple Heart, the Distinguished Unit Badge, and the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with Bronze Service Arrowhead .

He was last employed by Morrison Berkshire for many years until his retirement.

He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Jerome was a former Boy Scout leader in North Adams. He enjoSurvivors include nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

He was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters, including Constance Bourdon, Elaine Fortin, and Norman, Raymond, Clifford, and Richard Bourdon.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Jerome Bourdon will be Friday, June 7, 2013, at 9 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
