1928 - 2014 NORTH ADAMS Joan (Osborn) Carsno, 86, of Park Avenue, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in North Adams on Jan. 30, 1928, daughter of Frederick and Florence (Marshall) Osborn. She attended schools in North Adams including Drury High School. Mrs. Carsno was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed reading, knitting and crossword puzzles and scratch tickets but her favorite times were those spent with her family. Her husband, Harold "Babe" Carsno Jr., whom she married on Nov. 30, 1946, in North Adams, died Feb. 27, 1999. Survivors include her son, Dennis Carsno and his wife, Christine from Billerica; two daughters, Barbara Copenhaver and her husband, Darryl, and Cindy Burdick and her husband, James, all of North Adams; seven grandchildren, Travis Cramer, Scott Cramer, Jody Roy, Justin Roy, Carissa Carsno, Jamie Burdick and Stephanie Burdick and one great-grandchild, Nathan Cramer. She was predeceased by her son, Steven C. Carsno, who died Sept. 19 1987; by her daughter, Sandra Cramer who died Nov. 25, 2007, and by a brother, Frederick Osborn. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Joan Carsno will be held at the First Baptist Church in North Adams at 11 a.m. on Friday.
