1932 -- 2013 WINDSOR Joan Marie (Meyer) Dubuc, 81, of Windsor, died Wednesday morning, October 16, 2013, at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield. She was born in Tarrytown, New York on May 7, 1932, a daughter of the late Frederick and Amelia Meyer. She attended schools in New York, and then lived in the Berkshires for many years. Joan was an animal advocate and dog lover. She dedicated her life to breeding, training and showing beautiful dogs from the mini-dachshund to the Bernese mountain dog. She loved them all. Bring Joan a dog in need and she would fold him into her heart and give or find him a loving home. Dogs everywhere have lost a true friend in Joan's passing. She is survived by three daughters, Suzanne Kreger, and her companion, Randy Ward, of Leyden, Mass.; Kimberly Anderson and her husband, Keith, of Latham, N.Y. and Leslie Prudhomme and her husband, Michael, of Windsor, Mass.; two sons, Timothy DuBuc of Norfolk, Mass., and Thomas DuBuc of Tampa, Fla.; A brother, Robert Meyer of California; a half brother, Stephen Wulff of Denver, Colo.; eight Grandchildren, four Great Grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, Ralph O. DuBuc, and by a sister, Charlotte. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 21st, at 11:00 AM in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Relatives and friends are invited. There are no calling hours. Our Mom would urge you, in memory of her, to donate to your local animal shelter or rescue a bag of food, a dog bed anything you can give is helpful.
