JoAnne C. Peplowski

1932-2015 PITTSFIELD Mrs. JoAnne C. Skowron Peplowski, 82, of 75 Foote Ave. died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on August 6, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Mary A. Pyra Skowron. JoAnne was a 1950 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Prior to her marriage she was employed as a draftsman at the former General Electric Co. from 1951 to 1957, after graduating from the Draftee Training Program. She left G.E. in 1957 to raise her family, returning to work in 1981 as a Pension Review Analyst at the Berkshire Life Insurance Co., from which she retired in 1989. JoAnne enjoyed playing golf for many years in the women's league at Skyline Country Club. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality. Her husband, Frank A. Peplowski whom she married on Sept. 7, 1957 died on June 28, 2013. She is survived by four sons, Frank A. Jr., of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Joseph C. and his wife, Nancy O'Donnell of Winchester, Mass.; Steven E. and his wife, Ann of Pittsfield; and Matthew M. and his wife, Nancy Murray of Lunenburg, Mass. She also leaves behind to mourn her loss loving and devoted grandchildren, Helen, Frank III, Margaret, John, Elizabeth, Emma, Michael, Luke, Adam, William and Erin. JoAnne leaves one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Nichols of Pittsfield; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Michael R. Peplowski, the twin of her son Matthew. Michael died at birth in 1969. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Edward J. Skowron and PFC Robert B. Skowron, who was killed in the Korean War, as well as three sisters, Helen Skowron, Dorothy McInerney and Isabelle Callahan. FUNERAL NOTICE: Mrs. JoAnne C. Skowron Peplowski died February 4, 2015. Funeral services will be Monday, February 9 at 11 a.m. from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 noon in Sacred Heart Church celebrated by Rev. Peter Naranjo, Parochial Vicar. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
