John Buck Obituary
John K. Buck Jr.

1920-2012 SAVOY John Kirkham Buck Jr., 92, of 26 Main Rd., Savoy, died Monday, September 17, 2012 at the North Adams Commons Care Center.

Born in Adams on March 12, 1920, he was the son of the late John K. And Elizabeth Forster Buck and attended Adams schools graduating for the former Adams High School in 1938. His first place of employment was for the former Berkshire Mills in Adams, after which he with his wife moved to New London, Conn., and became employed with the Baltic Mills for a short time, and then for the General Dynamics Co. for twenty years, retiring in 1985, at that time he and his wife moved back to Adams. Mr. Buck was a WWII Army veteran serving in the European Theater, his one great enjoyment was carpentry.

He is survived by his wife, the former Sophie Pytko, whom he married on December 1, 1945, one son, Owen J. Buck and his wife Trixe Lee of Savoy, two daughters, Claudia Buck of Farmersville, Texas, Louise J. Bacon and her husband Donald of Newfield, N.H., three grandchildren, Gwen Snyder of Celest, Texas, Amanda Burdick of Fremont, N.H.,Cheyanne Thompson of Notingham, N.H., and three great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sons, John K. Buck III and Glenn Buck.

Private services and burial for John will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family, there are no calling hours. The TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME in Adams is in charge of arrangements.
