1926 - 2015 NORTH ADAMS John Hamilton Burdick, 88, of 100 Cliff St., died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in North Adams on November 14, 1926 a son of the late Harold and Thelma (Grant) Burdick. He graduated from Drury High School & enlisted in the Coast Guard where he served aboard a P.T. Boat in WWII. He worked in the shipping department at Sprague electric for 20 years, then several years at the General Electric Co. in Pittsfield. He was last employed with the North Adams School Department as an custodian at Sullivan School until his retirement. John was a quiet, easy going, and simple man who was liked very much by everyone who knew him; no one could ask for a better man than John. He had been in failing health for some time. The world would be a better place if more people were like him. He was completely devoted to his son and grandson. John's beloved wife, Bertha (Salavantis) Burdick, passed in 2006. Survivors include his son, Richard "Rick" Vaughan and Denise Kennedy of North Adams and grandson, Loren Rosenburg of North Adams and a niece, Janice Chenail. He was predeceased by one brother, Monroe Burdick and one sister, Dorothy Carlisle. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services will take place Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 9 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA.
