John Burgner

1933 - 2014 DALTON John A. Burgner, 81, formerly of Dalton, died Monday, Oct. 27, in West Chester, Ohio. He was born Mar. 20, 1933 in Pittsfield the son of the late Alfred and Lillian Burgner. He was educated in local schools graduating from Pittsfield High School in 1950. He was the former owner of the Burgner Farm and Farm Store at the corner of Dalton Division Rd. and Williams St. and before that for 16 years at the farm on 942 Williams Street carrying on the family tradition of his father and grandfather before him, until moving to West Chester, OH a few years ago. Many local families for years enjoyed a Burgner turkey at Thanksgiving time. He loved to travel enjoying the discovery of new places, meeting new people and making new friends. He leaves his wife of 61 years, the former Elizabeth Budrow whom he married in 1953 at St. Mark's Church; three sons, Dr. Glenn Burgner (Patricia) of Westport, Mass,, Thomas Burgner (Gail) of Dalton, Brian Burgner of West Chester, OH; three daughters, Barbara Burgner of Conway, AR, Brenda Hill (Robert) of Athens, TN, Heather Spitler (Thomas) of Lexington, KY; his sister, Barbara Burgner Fuchs of 996 Williams Street, Pittsfield; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services at St. Joseph Cemetery will be held at a time to be announced.
